After 15 years working as a graphic designer, I decided to start this project as a way to get away from my screen, quiet my mind and focus on creating something analog. I love being able to apply my design skills and interest in pop culture to this work and bring a more casual approach to a medium that is thousands of years old. As an artist working with clay, a precious nonrenewable resource, I am mindful of its value.
My goal is to make art that brings a
☺ smile ☺ to your face and to create things that are both playful and practical. Whether you're a minimalist or a maximalist, I hope you'll find something in my collection that speaks to you.
I maintain a near-zero-waste workspace by reclaiming all clay scraps, shredding old shipping boxes for package filling, recycling the relentless junk mail flyers that end up at my door and I only run my kiln during off peak hours.
Every piece is handmade in my home studio in Toronto, Canada. There will be subtle variations from piece to piece, and isn't that the whole point?
